Please arrange a meeting before visiting. Keep your initial message brief and avoid sending confidential material.

01

Contact the Chicago office

The Chicago office is located at 900 W Jackson Boulevard, Suite 7E, Chicago, IL 60607. Call 312-566-9173 or email josh@adamsdefenselaw.com to request a conversation.

Before visiting, contact the firm to confirm a meeting and its details. If you have a hearing or response deadline, include that information in your initial request. A request for contact does not confirm that an attorney will attend a hearing.

02

Federal defense and Illinois inquiries

Joshua’s practice includes federal investigations and criminal cases involving drug and firearm allegations, fraud, and racketeering. His background also includes Illinois state criminal matters. The first step is to identify the charges or inquiry and which court has the matter.

Federal and state proceedings should not be treated as interchangeable. Tell the firm if you have paperwork from more than one court or agency, so the conversation can address the actual scope of representation you need.

03

Make the first conversation useful

You do not need to reconstruct every event in a first message. Start with your name, contact details, court or agency, and the next date requiring attention. Mention whether you have current counsel or are calling on behalf of someone else.

Ask the firm how it would like to receive any records. Keeping the initial request limited gives you an opportunity to discuss appropriate communication before sending sensitive case information.

PREPARE FOR A CONVERSATION

A useful place to start.

  • Court name and any assigned case number
  • Next scheduled appearance or deadline
  • A safe callback number and contact preference

Begin with contact details and dates. Ask the firm how to provide any documents securely.
